Discover Chef Pats Seafood And Grill

Walking into Chef Pats Seafood And Grill feels like stepping into the kind of neighborhood spot locals quietly protect. I first stopped by on a busy Friday evening after hearing a Lauderdale Lakes firefighter rave about their grilled snapper during a community event. The place sits right along 2876 N State Rd 7, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33313, United States, and from the parking lot alone you can smell seasoned seafood hitting the grill. That aroma sets expectations high, and in my experience, the kitchen consistently delivers.

What stands out immediately is how the menu balances comfort food with serious seafood know-how. You’ll see familiar options like fried shrimp baskets and fish sandwiches, but the real magic is in the grilled plates. I once watched the chef explain to a curious diner how they control heat to keep fish moist without masking flavor. That attention to process shows on the plate. The salmon comes out flaky, not dry, while the crab legs are cooked just long enough to stay tender. According to data from the National Fisheries Institute, overcooking is the most common mistake in seafood preparation, and this kitchen clearly understands how to avoid it.

On a later visit, I ordered the seafood combo, which included shrimp, whiting, and scallops. The seasoning blend was balanced, letting the natural taste shine through. A friend who reviews restaurants for a South Florida food blog pointed out that the batter stayed crisp even after sitting for a few minutes, a sign of proper oil temperature and fresh ingredients. That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects training and experience, something you’d expect from cooks who’ve spent years working the grill.

The dining room itself is casual and welcoming, more diner than upscale restaurant, which fits the vibe perfectly. Families, solo diners, and construction crews all seem equally at home. During one lunch rush, I noticed the staff remembered repeat customers by name and even recalled usual orders. That kind of service builds trust and keeps reviews positive across platforms like Google and Yelp, where many diners praise both food quality and friendliness.

Another detail worth noting is portion size. Seafood prices have risen nationally, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting steady increases over the past few years, yet the plates here remain generous. You leave full, not feeling like you paid premium prices for minimal portions. Still, availability can vary. On one visit, the kitchen ran out of a specific fish by evening, which the staff openly explained. That honesty actually increased my confidence, since it suggested they don’t rely on frozen stock when fresh supply runs out.

Location matters too. Being right on State Road 7 makes it accessible from multiple nearby neighborhoods, and many customers mention stopping in after work or errands. The restaurant doesn’t try to be flashy; instead, it focuses on doing a few things well. Grilling, frying, seasoning, and serving seafood the right way takes discipline, and that’s evident here.

If there’s a limitation, it’s that seating can feel tight during peak hours, and wait times stretch when the grill is slammed. But most regulars accept that trade-off because the food is worth it. As one longtime customer told me while waiting for takeout, bold no rush seafood done right is hard to find, and this place gets it right more often than not.

Between the well-crafted menu, consistent cooking methods, and strong word-of-mouth reviews, this diner has earned its reputation. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Lauderdale Lakes, it’s the kind of spot you remember, recommend, and come back to without overthinking it.

  • I enjoyed breakfast here. I ordered the mini sausage breakfast bowl. Which was hot fresh and good,I also added extra sausage. While waiting I noticed sweets which caught my attention and had to get. I got the red velvet cupcake and banana pudding. I couldn’t tell whether the banana pudding was baked or standard. Because it was sitting out with the cakes… but I believe it’s baked l, it’s good though…. I looked over the menu I can’t wait to go back for lunch one day, everything looks appealing. Owner is welcoming, although she was making my order she still spoke when catching eye contact with me. Friendly staff.

  • First time ordering from this establishment, and I was pleasantly surprised. My husband ordered earlier in the week and said I should try. It was Saturda, so we ordered over the phone and waited less than 10 minutes to get our order. Everything was correct, and the food was hot. We enjoyed our food very much, the portions were great. The Pat Stack breakfast sandwich was huge. My son couldn't finish it. We were all pleased with our food. We will definitely visit again.

  • Today I was determined to enjoy food having been sick the past three days. I had the grilled lobster tail, shrimp, and snapper with seafood rice. It was delicious and I was able to keep it down! I was overjoyed because yesterday I went to a large chain restaurant and my stomach turned while I was eating. Keep up the good work! I was determined to eat real food and enjoy it! I did just that!

  • As a DoorDash driver, I go to a lot of places And experience all different levels of service. The employees at Chef Pats are top notch. They’re always so friendly and helpful. Everything smells delicious and they’ve always got it ready right on time. There are some places I dread going to when I have to pick up an order, but I always enjoy going into Chef Pats. The Ladies there always make it an enjoyable experience and the food all smells and looks delicious. Sometime when I’m not rushing in and out, I’m gonna have a meal there myself. :)
